The fifth stop on the Tastes of Tequesta Tour was a visit to a unique Village eatery that is as committed to protecting the environment and supporting the local economy as it is to serving fresh, nutrient-packed, and locally-sourced food. 3 Natives, located in the Village Square Shopping Plaza at the SE corner of US 1 and Tequesta Drive, was founded in Tequesta in 2013 and now boasts another six Florida locations. Village Clerk Lori McWilliams, a faithful patron of 3 Natives, accompanied Mayor Abby Brennan to this stop on the tour. Known for its selection of Brazilian acai bowls, 3 Natives also serves a wide variety of fresh “super-food” smoothies, like the All Hopped Up, specialty wraps including the Tres Navitos’ Burrito, and innovate protein and vegan salads. Bagels are served with a variety of toppings including homemade hummas and tuna salad. Beverages are also made daily onsite and include Seasonal Fruit-Infused Southern Sweet Tea and cold pressed juices and shots. Lori did not have to look at the menu to order The Bird, her favorite acai bowl and a Twisted Ginger shot. Abby chose the daily special, Avocado Mango Toast served with a cup of white bean and kale soup. She also enjoyed a berry hibiscus Kombucha sparkling tea. Son and father team Anthony and Philip Bambino are at the helm of 3 Natives and, in their own words, are staying the course to deliver “Raw Natural Fresh – the way food should be.”
