Baldino’s Italian Restaurant was the sixth stop on the Mayor’s Tastes of Tequesta Tour. Opened nearly 15 years ago by Philadelphia natives Sal and Louise Baldino, the restaurant continues to thrive under new ownership. Accompanying Mayor Brennan for lunch were Tequesta Village Manager Michael Couzzo and long-time resident Gary Van Brock. For decades, Mr. Van Brock served the Village as a true visionary and developer of numerous commercial and residential properties. As we enjoyed our meals, Gary gave us a fascinating view of the people, politics and decisions that shaped Tequesta as we know it today.
Along with Baldino’s signature pizzas, Philly cheese steaks, pasta dishes and garlic knots, new items on the menu include gorgonzola salads and pizza-dough wrapped cheese steak rolls. Michael chose chicken parmesan for his entrée and Abby ordered a cheese steak hoagie served on one of the rolls flown in daily from Philadelphia. Gary is a regular customer at Baldino’s and, without a glance at the menu, ordered the chicken salad over greens. The restaurant offers daily lunch and dinner specials and a children’s menu is available. Beer on tap and wine by the glass are also served. Baldino’s has both indoor and outdoor seating, take-out, and catering. Most notably, the essence of Baldino’s Italian Restaurant is its roots in the “City of Brotherly Love.” An authentic Taste of Philly! can be found in the Village of Tequesta.
